After reading this article from Harward I can´t hide that what brings me more excited about AR is its application to Medicine.
The huge potential to make surgical procedures safer and faster is incredible and all medical field has big eyes on that. With that, as a simple example, surgeons can use wearable AR glasses to visualize crucial information from scans overlaid with the body of the patient as they operate (yes – some sensors in AR glasses already allow projected holographic images not only to physical space but also in the patient´s body). This means: good for doctors, good for patients.
And this feature not only can be applied for basic surgeries but also in more complicated applications, as said “this same data allows the glasses to “see” the location of the user’s hands, which allows the user to not only view these projections, but also to use their hands to manipulate them, zooming in and out, and switching between images”. In fact it really brings the “application” to the picture.
Of course, the technology needs to be continually improving also considering its required storage and huge amounts of data to be processed. However it is already positive to mention the advancements around the ability to deal with all this data in a self-contained manner without the need to use an additional phone or computer, but using only the glasses themselves.
What about you? If you find yourself in this situation as a patient, do/will you feel safe knowing all the support given to the doctor while operating you?

12/20/2019 at 6:10 PM #305SenseHub AdminKeymasterHello and welcome Ceci_Garcia, is good to have you here. Remember to take a look at the link we post to discutions. Feel free to ask questions, bring up topics for discussions 😉
12/20/2019 at 6:14 PM #306SenseHub AdminKeymasterWe’re digging in new uses for AR concerning especially people with disabilities. Use AR to make a digital extensions of our senses. AR accessible for everyone especially peoples with disabilities like visual impairments, auditory disabilities, reading disability. Smart headset and smart glasses redefine augmented reality (AR) and are the ideal platform for developing AR apps.
12/20/2019 at 6:35 PM #307SenseHub AdminKeymasterThe forum will not disclose treatment, therapeutic or diagnostic devices. We want to create discussion questions and think in new forms to bring AR to use and enable persons with disabilities to live independently and participate fully in all aspects of life, and AR forms of assistance and support to grant access for persons with disabilities to new information and communications.
12/20/2019 at 6:47 PM #308SenseHub AdminKeymasterDevelopers can create devices to bridge sensorial gaps.
Developers can hack early smart glasses and headphones to suit their needs, like an affirmation for putting practical use cases first.12/20/2019 at 6:51 PM #309SenseHub AdminKeymasterAs an example
A smart glass can alert the user to all the dangers and alert situations he can’t hear the sounds of crying babies, the horn of an approaching car as you absentmindedly step out into a busy street, to recognize and alert the wearer to sounds that represent imminent danger.microphones for detecting the sounds they capture and rout to an additional app on a connected smartphone for processing interacting to a smart glasses to informe and comunicat to the user.
We think by focusing on peoples with disabilities, we can find ways that the utility of a device like smart glasses and headphones can be seen very quickly.

Audio Description involves the accessibility of the visual images of theater, television, movies, and other art forms for people who are blind, have low vision
The Google Goggles app is an image-recognition mobile app that uses visual search technology to identify objects through a mobile device’s camera.Real time use of audio transcription services
This discussions serves as a model example of the state of our modern world,With right resources at hand, developers will help expand the possibilities of toolset to scale solutions for specific needs.
12/20/2019 at 7:00 PM #311SenseHub AdminKeymasterThis is a discussion forum that would allow for student, teacher, to develope AR accessibility apply to everyday use, thinking in really purpose-built devices and apps.
A forum from a developer perspective.
Building together a vibrant tech ecosystems.
Let’s see what developers tells us.

New challenges – and huge new opportunities! – are ahead.12/23/2019 at 6:09 PM #317SenseHub AdminKeymasterComputers have learned to see the world more clearly in recent years, thanks to some impressive leaps in artificial intelligence.
A project called ImageNet played a key role in unlocking the potential of AI by giving developers a vast library for training computers to recognize visual concepts.
12/23/2019 at 6:12 PM #318SenseHub AdminKeymasterAI is a powerful opportunity to build new products, services, devices and more.
The future of AR is meaningful connections. From highend and rare to affordable and widespread.
Millions of consumers will seek out products, services and experiences that help them alleviate sensorial disabilities.
12/23/2019 at 6:15 PM #319SenseHub AdminKeymasterRemember, technology mean nothing if developers don´t use it to make the world better.
So absorb this ideas, take them to your team, share, discuss, argue and conspire.
But most of all, act.
